What camera do you use to take your photos?
I’m in love with my Canon 70D. It takes amazing pics especially with my Canon 50mm prime lens which I use for close ups. I also use an ultra wide angle zoom lens Canon 10-22mm for wider shots. I also have a Samsung NX-Mini for vlogging.

What program do you use to edit your photos?
I currently use a mixture of iPhoto and Lightroom. I started off with iphoto and I still love using it for very quick edits however, I also use Lightroom if I really want to be precise or have a lot of photos to edit at once.

What do you use to edit your videos?
Final Cut Pro

Who designed your blog layout?
He goes by the name of Jay Smukkeberg. I contacted him because he designed some of my favourite bloggers’ blogs like ViviannaDoesMakeUp, PatriciaBright and LilyPebbles. I read their blogs and watch their videos all the time and when I saw their websites I fell in love with them even more so by default, I HAD to call Jay and he is ever so the professional.

How did you create your logo for Joy De Vivre
Another genius of Jay Smukkeberg. Check out his website here

Why did you start a YouTube Channel?
Years ago, I was signed up to YouTube and started making video blogs on a platform called Joy TV (gosh, thinking back now, it’s so cringe! Haha). Then I got signed to a big TV Agency called Arlington Enterprises. For some reason, I thought the TV world would look down on me for making videos on YouTube and as much as I didn’t want to, I felt I had to delete all my videos and my YouTube channel (I’m so sorry to all my then subscribers). However, now I realize that I was totally wrong! Thank God - because I missed YouTube. I’m back on now with a brand new channel, with a humble number of subscribers yay! Please do subscribe if you are on YouTube and tell your friends too!

Why did you start a Blog?
I have always admired bloggers but never really believed I could start one. I have recently taken a lot of interest in photography and love taking pictures. Also blogging and vlogging go hand in hand so it made sense. The most amazing thing about having a blog is that you can be very spontaneous about it, taking pics and blogging on the go. As much as I love it, making a YouTube video can involve a lot of set up and planning. Hence, I think having the two side by side is brilliant.

Do you have any advice for starting up a YouTube Channel or a Blog?
Yes – just do it! Don’t think about it – just do it! The great thing about YouTube/Blogging is being yourself. Nothing else matters, just you and there is an audience for EVERYONE!

I can’t afford a fancy camera to start a YouTube Channel or Take pictures for a blog. What do I do?
Don’t worry. Everyone has a smart phone these days. Simply use your smart phone. Everyone started from somewhere. Simply start with this. I also think this is a great idea because you can decide whether or not you enjoy blogging. Even if you could afford it, you don’t want to spend lots of time and money buying all this fancy stuff and then realizing that blogging is not your thing.

You sound American, have you ever lived there?
No, never. I went to New York for about two weeks - ages ago when I was younger. I am aware that my accent is very difficult to place. I sometimes sound like I’m speaking the Queen’s English and then other times, I sound very American or like I’m from Northern England. Well, I was born in Nigeria and lived there until 2003. Then I moved to England and lived in the Midlands for 3years. In 2006, I went to university in the gorgeous city of Leicester for three years and ended up staying on for a further two years. Then later, I moved to London and I’ve been here ever since! I speak the way I do and my accent changes when I meet people from certain parts of the world! Sounds weird I know lol!

What did you study at university?
Physiotherapy. I am HCPC registered and also a verified member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists – that makes me a Chartered Physiotherapist. It’s a protected title and I’m very proud of it. {Here} is a video I once made for the BBC explaining in simple terms about a small aspect of what I do.

How do you juggle being a physiotherapist, photographer and a blogger/vlogger all at the same time?
It’s very difficult and I have to be super organised which I’m slowly learning. I have to remember a lot of things and my calendar on my smart phone helps me a lot. There’s never a day when I’ve come home and felt like I’ve got everything done – in fact it’s quite the opposite. I made a video [here] that describes some of the things I do to not let it all overwhelm me.

Please feel free to send me more questions and I will try my hardest to answer them in a video or here!
